Public Space: Hamilton Carver & Lee, Healthcare Advertising
Text
Hamilton Carver & Lee wanted to create a separate and distinct space for an expanding advertising group to innovate and cultivate new business initiatives. The owner’s objective was to retain existing workplace areas and focus on the redesign of the public reception and meeting areas.
Stripping away layers of a non-descript build-out exposed the timber structure of the original loft building. The inherent, bold textures reduced the degree of new construction and created a cost-effective and distinctive solution.
An over-scaled painting of an industrial fire escape, positioned at the entry area, creates a visual focal point. The shapes in the painting and the newly exposed ductwork inform the design with a sense of energy and informality to encourage ad hoc dialogue between team members and clients.
